AI prompt suggestions
Using the nightly downloaded today, I tried out the AI prompt feature. It's good but I have a couple of suggestions:
- The default prompt works poorly with GPT4. I include a better one below.
- It's not clear to a non-expert iTerm user how the overlay window works, and how to focus it. The screen says "Press shift-enter to execute command" but the cursor isn't focused in that area. What do I push to copy the results into the terminal without having to use the mouse to navigate focus to the area where the results are displayed?
- It would be great if there could be a shell variable for the output of the last command(s) so context can automatically be sent.
- When logged in via ssh, the "Engage Artificial Intelligence" option is greyed out and I don't understand why.
I suggest a different prompt because GPT4 is an instruct/chat only model. Asking it to complete a script doesn't work. It really wants to chat and include Markdown, so you have to tell it explicitly not to. This works:
Return commands suitable for copy/pasting into \(shell) on \(uname). Do NOT include commentary NOR Markdown triple-backtick code blocks as your whole response will be copied into my terminal automatically.
The script should do this: \(ai.prompt)
