Unable to use or disable 1Password integration
Bug report
Thanks for filing an issue! Please answer the questions below so I can help you.
- iTerm2 version: 3.5.0beta6
- OS version: 12.4
- Attach
~/Library/Preferences/com.googlecode.iterm2.plist
here (drag-drop from finder into this window) com.googlecode.iterm2.plist - Attach a debug log, if possible.
- Attach a screen capture video if it would make the reproduction steps clearer.
PLEASE ATTACH YOUR PLIST FILE FOR BUG REPORTS! Seriously! I'll probably ask you for it if you don’t.
Detailed steps to reproduce the problem
I'm not 100% sure I can reproduce, should be obvious why from what the symtoms are
- Installed 1Password CLI (using brew/cask, I have version 2.5.1)
- Enabled 1Password integration from the ITerm2 password manager 3-dot menu in top right.
- Upon authenticating with 1Password, ITerm2 password manager just spins on "Working..." with a cancel button.
- Unfortunately, the cancel button doesn't work, and the app never succeeds in loading whatever data from my 1Password vaults that its attempting (I left it for many minutes)
- Force quitting iterm2 is the only way out.
- Further, I don't see any way to tell iterm2 not to use 1Password - every time I go in to the iterm2 password manager, it just starts spinning again.
- Even removing the op binary from /usr/local/bin doesn't work - when I open the iterm2 password manager it tells me it can't find /usr/local/bin/op, and gives two options: Cancel and Locate. Cancel just crashes or quits the whole application. Locate of course asks me where op is, which doesn't solve the problem.
What happened
See above.
What should have happened
Ideally, I'd be able to use 1Password integration. Second best, I'd like to be able to disable iterm2's attempt to use 1Password so that I can go back to the basic password manager built in to iterm2.
Thanks!
