This release has no additional features but updates the DockerHub hosted images and several vendors to recent released versions:

Binaries built with the latest Go 1.25.1 version
Docker and containerd dependencies updated to latest version (containerd 2.0 -> 2.1)
Alpine image release base moved up from 3.21.3 to 3.22.1
Latest versions of registry credential helpers are included in the Alpine images

A bug fix (#281) that corrects exit codes and includes better error strings/reporting. Thanks to @wylswz for the report!
A new feature (#283) that enables adding annotations to the OCI index. Thanks to @gvenzl for the request!

Additionally, vendors have been updated to recent versions and now dependabot is being used in the project to keep dependencies up to date regularly.

All binaries are now built with the latest Go (1.24.2) and the Alpine-based images are updated to the latest release tag (3.21.3).
