The 17.0 major release is coming on May 16, 2024! This version brings many exciting improvements to GitLab, but also removes some deprecated features. Deleted Gitter user should not join Matrix DM

Make it clear to the other party that the DM has not reached the Gitter user by not joining the DM room when invited.
