Windows app should use push notifications; instead of running in background
Presumably to support notifications, the Windows Gitter app
- launches at startup, and
- uses a tray icon to continue running when the window is closed.
If Gitter were to use Windows push notifications it wouldn't need to run in the background and the tray icon wouldn't be necessary.
(If that's not an option, it would be nice to be able to disable the tray icon altogether.)
