fix: small changes to contributing guidelines example readability

Hey, during the kubecon challenge I was searching for repos to contribute to with the spare time available; I was reading the contributing guidelines for one of the repositories linked with the challenged and noticed there were a few things that could be improved to make the markdown examples more readable.

I've tried following the Contribution tutorial and hope I got everything right.
