In our development docs, we suggest using the simple.rb project configuration file to test builds of a component - https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/omnibus-gitlab/tree/master/doc/development#validating-changes-to-a-single-software-dependency

Let's make sure we don't accidentally check that in. 😁
