Dropped the use of PCRE in the storage directory helper
We were using -P with grep, but pcre support can very from distro to distro. It's better to just not rely on it.

The 17.0 major release is coming on May 16, 2024! This version brings many exciting improvements to GitLab, but also removes some deprecated features.
