Docs: Prefer Ubuntu's Git-PPA over source compiling

What does this MR do?

Add & improve some Git-related install instruction, for things I noticed during the source installs of my onboarding. I arrived at these change suggestions by testing the current instructions on Debian 10.3 and Ubuntu 19.10.
