Error in custom dashboard yml file breaks the dashboards dropdown

What does this MR do?

If the custom dashboard yml file is incorrect (something wrong with the format or wrong keywords) the dashboards dropdown in the monitoring dashboard is empty. The user cannot select another dashboard

This MR fixes the dropdown.
