Enable AI agent session tracking by default

Turns on ai_agent_session_tracking by default, so self-managed and Dedicated instances accept agent sessions from glab (Claude Code, Cursor and Codex) in 19.5 without an admin enabling the flag.

Changes

  • default_enabled: true in ee/config/feature_flags/development/ai_agent_session_tracking.yml.

Notes

  • On GitLab.com the flag already has per-project gates stored, so this default does not apply there. It is turned on with chatops once everything is verified on production.
  • The three API specs that cover the disabled state stub the flag, so they are unaffected.
  • The endpoints stay gated by the Developer role, the AI catalog licence and the "Allow external agents" setting. Events are only kept where the group has "Store AI audit events" on.
  • Verified end to end on a local GDK with this flag on: glab 1.122.0 uploaded real Cursor and Codex sessions, and the AI Governance dashboard showed them.
