What does this MR do and why?
Previously, we had ensured the Dates widget was able to be closed (and any changes applied) using the esc key, similar in the legacy widget (#442819 (closed)). At some point, there must have been a regression which has caused this to no longer function. In addition, we currently have a bug where trying to use the esc key on the Dates widget closes the contextual view if you have it open. This merge request has the fix for above-mentioned behaviour.
