We would like to add a banner to announce collection of event data for SM/Dedicated and also to highlight the ability to pre-opt out.

  • Title: Review data collection changes coming in GitLab 18.0
  • Message: Starting with 18.0, GitLab will collect event-level product usage data from Self-Managed and Dedicated instances -- while ensuring privacy, transparency, and customer control. GitLab administrators can disable data collection for their instance in 17.11 before before data collection begins in 18.0.
