How to set up and validate locally

Numbered steps to set up and validate the change are strongly suggested.

  1. in config/gitlab.yml on like 31, add default_color_mode: 2 (1 for light mode, 2 for dark and 3 for automatic)
  2. run gdk restart
  3. view login screen by logging out of current user
