How to set up and validate locally

Numbered steps to set up and validate the change are strongly suggested.

To test new Tooltip

Ensure that you have banned Duo features turned Duo Features off for a Group (uncheck Use GitLab Duo features, and check Enforce for all subgroups):

  1. On the left sidebar, select Search or go to and find your group that has the banned setting enforced.
  2. Navigate to Subgroup.
  3. Select Settings > General (in the Subgroup).
  4. Expand Permissions and group features.
  5. Under GitLab Duo features validate the checkbox is disabled, and there is a lock icon that you can hover over and a Tooltip appears with the appropriate name and link for ancestral inheritance from whence it was banned/disabled.
  6. Optional, you may go to a Subgroup's Project and validate the Cascading Lock Button and Lock Tooltip features work.
