@squadri Thanks for the investigation! Would it make sense to document this in the handbook somewhere? Maybe on https://handbook.gitlab.com/handbook/engineering/ai/code-creation/engineering_overview/ ?
Summary
This issue follows up from #545030 (closed), where groupcode creation took over the ownership of AI-Assisted service. See the implementation MR for details.
Problem
As new owners of the AI-Assisted service, we need comprehensive documentation to effectively manage and maintain the service. Currently, our understanding of the service architecture, data flow, and usage patterns is limited, which could impact our ability to respond to incidents and make informed decisions about service improvements.
Proposal
Document a comprehensive summary of the AI-Assisted service in our team handbook, covering:
- Service architecture and components
- Request flow and data patterns
- Usage patterns and performance characteristics
- Integration points and dependencies
Success Criteria
- Complete documentation of AI-Assisted service architecture published in team handbook
- Clear ownership visibility established for the service
- Team members can effectively reference documentation for:
- Understanding service architecture and components
- Responding to incidents with confidence
- Making informed decisions about service expansion and optimization
- Documentation integrated with existing runbooks
