Release notes
Using our hosted runners on macOS, you can now build applications that require macOS in a secure, on-demand GitLab Runner build environment that's fully integrated with GitLab CI/CD on macOS 15 and Xcode 16.
Try it out today by using macos-15-xcode-16 as the image in your .gitlab-ci.yml file.
Problem to solve
macOS 15 and Xcode 16 have been released on September 16th, along with various security updates to simulators.
Proposal
We want to build and release a macos-15-xcode-16 image.
Along with this release there are various security updates to simulators.

As is the standard with the available ipsw downloads, newer prior major version upgrades stop being released publicly, so the v14 image will remain on 14.6.1.
Once the v15 image is released we will also need to deprecate the v13 image.
