@leetickett-gitlab: We already have one in place when following mastadon links: app/controllers/external_redirect/external_redirect_controller.rb (see mastodon_url in app/helpers/application_helper.rb)

I think the mastodon one was added because all of the other social links go to the relevant social site, but mastodon can take you anywhere.

• When do we need to provide a redirection warning page when the link goes externally?
• Do we have this pattern elsewhere?
