Optimize input-field for variables (make it resizable or add full-size-view)

Regarding to #429462 (closed) and #410414 (closed)

For my usecase the change (to put the variable-field into sidebar without resizeable input) is really bad. In my case I have a settings.js file which is injected as JS-Object with many entries. Now it's not usable anymore, as you don't have any chance to have an overview of the whole input-field

Please reverse this, or make an option to view the input-dialog in a bigger screen (popup) or make the sidebar resizable.
