Access group board for public groups on free GitLab.com
- For the free GitLab plan (and all plans above), a public group will have access to the group issue board feature, including saved config and other gold plan features.
- Any public group board will pull in all issues from all projects (respecting existing product visibility constraints) in that group (and in the future, subgroups as well).
- That means if you have access to any private projects in that group, you will be able to see those private project issues on the board. We won't go to the trouble of doing special work to hide that.
- This is inline with the idea that public groups (used by open source projects) should get the Gold Plan features, even though they are using the free plan.
- This means that someone could potentially create a bunch of private projects on free plan of GitLab.com, and use group boards to manage their work. This isn't really in the spirit of what we want with open source projects. But we won't go to the trouble of adding the restrictions because it's unnecessarily complex and a high cost to maintain. So we will not encourage this behavior. But we won't specifically prevent it either.
