Overview

Value Stream Management (VSM) market is growing rapidly and according to analysts:

• By 2023, 70% of organizations will use value stream management to improve flow in the DevOps pipeline, leading to faster delivery of customer value.
• By 2023, the use of value stream delivery platforms to streamline application delivery will grow from 10% to 40%.” - Gartner, Predicts 2021: Value Streams Will Define the Future of DevOps.
• 90% of senior executives agree that VSM helps connect their software delivery practices to business outcomes (source).

Strategic Objectives - DevOps Analytics for the executives

The groupoptimize helps organizations optimize their software development processes to deliver better software faster, by providing DevOps analytics for enterprise management.

To achieve this, we will focus on adding the Value Streams Dashboard - centralized dashboard capabilities to provide a comprehensive visual interface to track and analyze the software organization value stream networks. This dashboard should enable customers to quickly evaluate the value stream status and identify improvement areas. The dashboard should also provide custom visualizations and allow drill-down into specific metric data to better understand each component of the value stream.

Everyday DevOps analytics for teams

In addition to the DevOps Analytics for the executives (Value Streams Dashboard), groupoptimize will continue to help organizations to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of everyday software development teams by surfacing actionable insights, highlighting waste and identifying areas for improvement. This will be done with the existing Value Streams Analytics & Insights capabilities.

It is common to drill-down from the Value Streams Dashboard into the everyday analytics underline data in order to gain a deeper understanding of specific metrics.

Proposal

Add a customizable dashboard capability to the Value Stream Management category, alongside Value Stream Analytics. In the maturitycomplete this dashboard will have three default pages:

1. Executive-level summary of key metrics related to software performance and flow of value across the organization, for more details.
2. Visualizing metrics comparisons to help decision-makers understand how different metrics are performing relative to each other or to identify trends and patterns in the data, for more details.
3. Business view- A unified view of the "Value Cycle" that includes both Value Stream and Product Analytics data.
