Gayle Doud Parental Leave Plan
👶
Overview This issue is to help prepare for my parental leave, which will begin in mid-September 2022.
In this issue, I'll create a plan for anything that will need to be covered while I'm on leave. This space can also be used to document any notes, MRs/epics/issues, or updates for me to catch up when I return.
📆
Timeline
I'm due September 14. I plan to take the entirety of my leave at once - 16 weeks starting from when the baby arrives (approximately mid-September through New Years 2023). Should I need any additional time off or an adjusted schedule for returning to work, I'll coordinate with @s_awezec and HR to make arrangements.
Tentative leave dates
- Parental Leave: September 15th through January 4th (to be updated based on baby's arrival)
- If I exceed my due date, I will work through the 16th, then plan to be OOO starting 2022-09-19. My leave will start as close to, if not on, the baby's delivery date.
- Regardless of whether I deliver on early, on time, or late, I do not plan to return to work until after the holidays. My return date will be sometime in early January.

Things to consider pausing until I return -
JiHu Relationship and changes to Registration flow to support their use cases - FYI here @s_awezec. - Continue to partner with @kbychu as ROE with JiHu gets defined and we learn more about expectations + prioritization of their needs WRT to registration. Happy to own this relationship when I return from leave in the new year.
- Could be a good area to invest UX time in Q4 to guide JiHu-owned changes to registration flow.
Assets & Reference Materials
-
H2 FY23 SaaS & SM New Subscription Purchase Flow Tracking Additions - @s_awezec FYI - Epic covering additional event tracking needs for SM & SaaS purchase flows. Currently assigned to ~"group::purchase". -
Anti-Abuse: Determine barriers to entry at signup (from Arkose risk score) - FYI @s_awezec - Continue to partner/coordinate with @jstava as Anti-Abuse nears readiness to release this risk score experience as we'll want to understand potential impacts to signup conversion rate, metrics related to abusers blocked and increase in quality signup.
- Joint Growth + Anti-Abuse opportunity for UX support for this effort. Includes Concurrency limit effort as well.
