Proposal

Let's remove the #303030 font color override that is being set in emails. This unnecessarily hurts font legibility.

Original Description

Do not force font size in the mail

Recently, (well, recently in the GNOME instance of the GitLab) you begun to force the font size to

body {
font-size: 0.875rem;
}

in the HTML mails. That's really unfortunate.

Could you stop doing that, please?

If you ask why, then it's easy. What works for you does not work for everybody else. I've a setting to the fonts I prefer to use in the mail application I use, which works for my eyes and what so ever. If you force smaller font, then it hurts my eyes and is overall bad experience, thus whatever that change was supposed to fix, it is considered a regression and a step in a wrong direction here (for me). You should limit such things in the HTML, to follow what the recipients prefer, not what you think looks fancy or what. For example smaller font for the signature/disclaimer at the end of the message is fine, it's a boring text not changing much; it's not like the main content of the message.

This is just one more reason why HTML is bad, but it's another story.
