Proposal

Ensure none of our shortcuts interfere with browser or AT

Background

When page-specified shortcuts or accesskeys are created for a web page, those shortcuts and accesskeys must not interfere with keyboard shortcuts used in the browser or keyboard shortcuts used through assistive technologies.

I’m curious if any of our shortcuts interfere with the browser or AT?

I was wondering about this during another course, but it specified that if you could turn off keyboard shortcuts then it is okay. This follows guidance from https://www.w3.org/WAI/WCAG21/Understanding/character-key-shortcuts.html. Do you know if the guideline presented in this course is different from 2.1.4?

In a past course, I think @jeldergl asked whether any of our keyboard shortcuts conflict with common screen reader keystrokes. We can compare our shortcuts with this PDF to check
