Creating branches while opening a Merge Request occasionally does not work
Summary
When creating a new merge request and branch at the same time, and change both names, these names get ignore and a new git branch with the default name is created.
The issue is not always reproducible (also on customer end) as it presents itself intermittently.
Steps to reproduce
The simple steps to trigger the problem are:
- On the Issue page within a project click on the "Create merge request" button;
- The button will reveal multiple choices. Pick "Create Merge request and branch";
- Change BOTH the "Branche name" AND "Source (branch or tag)" fields;
- Click "Create merge request".
What is the current bug behavior?
SOMETIMES the specified branch name is completely ignored and the default one is used instead.
What is the expected correct behavior?
The expected behaviour should result in the creation of a git
branch with the specified branch name out of the selected source.
