VSA Should Remember Task by Type Filters Per User
Problem to solve
There are a common set of labels I wish to filter issues by in the Task by Type section of the VSA pages. It takes me quite a while to set these up as I usually have to deselect a bunch of labels one at a time and then find each of the four or five labels I want to look at. When I refresh the page I lose of the selections. Given how long it takes to set this up, it makes it impractical to actually use the feature.
User experience goal
Remember the settings I have used so that I do not need to set them again.
For example, a common use case for this chart is to see breakdown of features, bugs, debt items, or security issues. I want to see that in every group / project I visit. If next want to see breakdown by a different set of labels, say P1 vs P2 vs P3, I also want that selection to follow me as I move from project to project. It would be confusing to change the selection in project A and then travel to project B and find that it was still showing features / bugs / debt / security.
Proposal
VSA should remember my Task by Type filters across page loads so that I do not need to reset these each time I look at the page.
Future steps
Eventually we may want to save filter sets that I can easily switch between. For example I want to alternate between breakdown by bug/feature/security/debt and group labels and priority labels.
Also once we can create and switch to separate value streams, we should be able to set the default on a per value stream basis.
