A few more improvements for AWS HA docs (DB setup)
This issue is a review of the DB setup sections of the AWS HA page.
-
This section adds a subnet for the database, but the architecture diagram looks like the app server, gitaly, runners, and databases are all on the same subnet (the blue shaded area). -
In Step 4 of the RDS Security Group section I think it would be easier to follow if the instructions followed the AWS UI. For example, "In Type, select PostgreSQL to add a PostgreSQL rule. In Source type, select Custom. In Source, select the gitlab-loadbalancer-sec-group
we created earlier." -
Step 4 of RDS Subnet Group doesn't match the UI. Add all the subnets related to this VPC didn't exist in my view. -
In Step 3 of Create the database, tell users to select GitLab's default version of PostgreSQL rather than a specific version number that quickly goes out of date. -
In Step 11 of Create the database, why do we ask users to disable auto minor version updates? -
In Redis with ElastiCache, I think there is a missing word in "Redis maintains its own persistence and is used for certain types of the GitLab application."
