Edit alert attributes in detail view

Problem to solve

During triage processes, time is of the essence. Responders need to be able to acknowledge alerts, assign alerts, and resolve alerts as quickly as possible so that time can be allocated to remediation. These actions need to be obvious and easy to execute on the alert. Adding a side bar to the alert detail page allows these actions to be accessible and easy to find.

This work drives the direction of the Alert Management category.

Proposal

Introduce a sidebar to the alert detail page, and move the status dropdown into it:

Alert detail sidebar Editing alert status Status updated
Detail_sidebar_version Change_status_dropdown Status_changed_system_note

There are a few additional small clean-ups shown here from the latest round of user testing. Would be great to include as part of this work, if we can:

  • Introducing the alert badge to the top of the page (as a way of differentiating this page from an issue, MR, etc)
  • Moving severity to the overview list
  • Re-formatting the overview list, as displayed (so that it's no longer all left-aligned - the titles are right-aligned, and the values are left-aligned)

Note: the Assignee section will be added as part of #215947 (closed). Introducing to-dos and notifications, and adding in the system notes can come as part of later iterations.

What is the type of buyer?

Is this a cross-stage feature?
