LFS push fails with "Fatal error: Server error", doesn't transfer a single byte
Description of the problem
My repository https://gitlab.com/yhigh-prod/y_web has LFS activated. I added several binary files with it already. At least since today, pushing a file change through LFS doesn't transfer a single byte and fails with:
Fatal error: Server error: https://gitlab.com/yhigh-prod/y_web.git/gitlab-lfs/objects/04b55b50c749cd116731ed6d3ff9a16d41d9f254192e48f898d5b619fb5f4f89/24835
The file I want to push is YHIGH Template Organisations and Team Members.xlsx
. It was in LFS before. After I changed both the content and the name, it failed to push. So I reset the commit, deleted the file from Git and pushed that deletion. That worked. Now I want to add it back as a new file, and that fails as well.
Could this be some sort of authentication failure? I had to re-install Git and git-lfs a couple of days ago. I can commit & push non-LFS changes just fine.
Attached are:
- Log of the push operation: push-log.txt
- My repository Git configuration: .gitattributes
I'm on macOS 10.15.4 with Git 2.26.1 and git-lfs/2.10.0.

Describe what you were doing right before the issue occurred.
- When I first saw the error in IntelliJ, I did the
push
on the command line. There, Git notified me that locking is available. So I enabled it, with no change in the push behaviour. - I updated to Git 2.26.1 before the failed push.
- A couple of days ago, I had to re-install Homebrew, git and git-lfs. This is my first Git LFS interaction since then, I think.
