"View Open Merge Request" button not shown for forks of public projects
Summary
The "View Open Merge Request" button is a handy shortcut when you're looking at commits on a branch and want to jump to the associated MR. It doesn't seem to work for forks of public projects. This would likely to be an annoyance for Community Contributors to GitLab, or any other public project that requires forking.
Steps to reproduce
If I:
- fork GitLab CE
- commit some code to a branch on my private fork
- submit a merge request back to GitLab CE
- visit the branch page for the branch I'm requesting to merge
I am still shown a button to Create Merge Request
. This does not happen when I've submitted an MR to another branch on the same remote/repo.
