Introduce Backup temporary folder
Hello,
I've moved my Gitlab backup storage to an NFS share, and upon inspecting a backup run I realized that Gitlab uses the storage both for preparing the backup, and for the actual backup itself.
This seems stupid in my case, first to transfer all data there (db
and repositories
), to then read it all from there and feed it into a Tar operation.
Could a temporary location be defined, so that the backup is prepared locally, and then written to a .tar
on the backup storage? A default setup could let the locations be the same, unless otherwise defined.
Mike.
