Move GitLab VS Code theme to separate extension package
Problem to solve
In order to publish the GitLab VS Code themes as extension we first need to create a separate theme package in the Web IDE repo and add the GitLab theme files.
Proposal
- Create a
gitlab-vscode-theme
package in the Web IDE repo that we can use publish in the Extensions Marketplace and include as a built-in extension in the Web IDE simultaneously. - Set up a CI job to publish GitLab VSCode theme to the Extension Marketplace and OpenVISX.
- See: #301
- Integrate color theme extension in the Remote Development VSCode editor.
- See: #302 (moved)

Open questions
Do we want to publish all three themes (Dark
, Dark Grey
, Light
) or only a Light/Dark?
- If all three, do we want to rename
Dark
andDark Grey
so they're more differentiated? For example:-
GitLab Standard Dark
/GitLab Mono Dark
-
GitLab Dark
/GitLab Midnight/Slate/Carbon
