Resolve "Fails to recongise GitLab project in repository without origin"

This MR further simplifies the complex fetchRemoteUrl function and takes care of the situation where a repository has multiple remotes and our code receives multi-line response to git remote.

This might be one of those rare MR's that are better reviewed using the inline view, rather than side by side view.
