fix: remove support for GitLab 10 and lower

Tomas Vik (OOO back on 2024-08-12) requested to merge remove-gitlab-10-support into main

This MR simplifies the extension by removing extra code that supported GitLab version 10 and lower. Last GitLab 10 (10.8.6) was released on 2018-07-17.

GitLab only supports the current and previous two major versions. That means 14, 13, and 12.
