Design tokens > Token inventory
Purpose
Use a spreadsheet to capture and inventory all tokens in order to:
- Have a good understanding of the initial quantity of tokens we're talking about.
- Ensure scalability for future modes (dark, high contrast, density, and more).
- Work through naming and standardizing concepts. A spreadsheet helps to:
- See all tokens in one place in order to make more holistic decisions.
- Avoid creating data in Figma that can't be removed later (leading to file bloat).
- Avoid working with specific formatting in code.
