(HTTP/S) Git clone command does not work with url which has missing .git extension
Here are the steps to recreate:
-
Add a git repository to gitlab. Once the repository is imported let us consider its url as https://example.com/example/project.git
-
git clone https://example.com/example/project throws the error fatal: https://example.com/example/project/info/refs not valid: is this a git repository?
-
If I run the command "git clone https://example.com/example/project.git" checkout is successful.
Please advice if their is a workaround for this
