FY23 Q3 Foundations KR1: Complete early validation testing of at least 3 north star designs

Goal

Utilize research findings to validate north star concepts in order to further increase confidence in the direction of navigation.

The approach

  • Conduct concept testing of six north star ideas @alasch (by August 5)
  • Analyze results of concept testing @alasch @aregnery (by August 17)
  • Refine concepts down to 2-3 options using research findings (by August 26)
  • Create research plan for comparative testing based on insights from concept testing @alasch (by August 26)
    • This test should build confidence in a navigation direction among different user groups (technical and non technical), as well as different personas. This likely means a more in depth study with a larger set of tasks and refined prototypes.
  • Build functioning prototypes, using the research plan to flesh out what interactions need to be built. (by September 9)
  • Run pilot tests (starting September 12) @alasch
  • Run moderated and unmoderated sessions for Product Manager, Developers, Security Professionals (starting September 19) @alasch / @nbrandt
  • Data analysis and final report for Product Manager, Developers, Security Professionals (October 12) @alasch

Next steps

Use research findings to narrow down north star prototypes to a single direction and utilize RITE to refine that direction further
