GitLab is only useable in English

As a lot of people don't master english very well, this would need to be addressed at some point.

I don't see any option to change the interface language. A lot of in-house development, where gitlab is mostly aiming for, happens in local languages and not everybody manages just as well in English. That's why I propose that translateability of the software should be aimed for.

GitLab does not support translations and probably will not in future. Translations mean a huge effort and can't get managed for rapid development. Every release would take a huge group of people checking the translations to make them correct.

You really don't have a clue how community translations work, do you? You can leave correctness of translations to others, don't worry about that. Just don't officially support them ;). But translations not being possible would be a huge error (for example for any use case I would have for GitLab, I would need the possibility to translate it myself).

I work for a global company with offices on five continents. Our development teams are distributed in many countries whose native language is not English, I can't believe you're not given the importance to the ability to configure a piece of software in multiple languages. There are many examples of complete platforms for years have implemented this capability, using the power of the Internet and volunteer groups, I think that would give much value to GitLab in the future.
