t: fix broken TAP output
Hi,
this small patch series fixes another instance of broken TAP output that has landed via 4d11b9c2 (Merge branch 'pt/fsmonitor-linux', 2026-05-31). Despite the fix I've also decided to have another commit on top that starts to detect broken TAP lines when using prove.
