Geo Admin Dashboard UX Research
What is this exercise all about?
The goal is to conduct a series of interviews with volunteer customers who are familiar with Geo and the Geo dashboard to capture user feedback about the Geo admin dashboard to guide Geo stage groups future improvements to the product. Engage interviewees in conversation around
- The information they see on the dashboard
- What they understand by the information available today
- What additional information would be useful to have/surface
- How they would go about troubleshooting replication issues using the dashboard.
This is a great opportunity for customers to influence the future direction of the Geo dashboard.
About the session
- Sessions will be conduction between 28th April and 5th of May 2023.
- Session will last approximately 45 mins
- We will share a Geo setup comprising of 1 primary site and 2 secondary sites
- You will be expect to access the Geo dashboard and review the state of the Geo sites.
- You will not need to access your own GitLab instance.
- We would like to record the session allowing us to review and collate information offline
- We would like you to share your screen during the session so we can follow your workflow.
- We will run through a series of questions and solicit feedback on the topics describe in the above section.
Suitable candidates
- Operate a self-managed GitLab instance with a Premium/Ultimate license
- Regularly monitor the health of Geo secondary sites (weekly, monthly)
- Role: Systems administrator/engineer or Infrastructure engineer/operator preferred (Other roles will also be consider)
Preparation require on behalf of the interviewee
- No preparation is required. We will take care of setting up the GitLab instance at a publicly reachable location.
