Summary
GitLab has partnered up with CHAOSS, a Linux Foundation project, to support the DEI Project Badging initiative from the CHAOSS Diversity, Equity and Inclusion working group. These DEI project badges help signal to potential contributors and funders that a project is improving and prioritizing DEI standards within their community.
Process for earning a DEI Badge
- Projects create a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Project Statement that reflects on the CHAOSS DEI metrics
- This DEI Project Statement is included in the project’s public repository as a DEI.md file
- CHAOSS reviews the project’s DEI.md file
- Upon successful review a project is awarded a DEI Project Badge to display across their website and documentation
