Meta: Helm Next Major related items

Summary

As groupdistribution works, we find items that either warrant a drastic shift, or require manual intervention for upgrade paths. This occasionally means we need to release a major version of the Helm charts outside of lock-step with the primary GitLab version.

Currently, a meta-issue for collecting issues (relations) that warrant, or are best closed with changes as part of a major revision of these Helm charts.

Concerns

Concerns, which can warrant the scheduling of a major version:

• Dependencies that need major versions jumps, which include manual steps
• Large changes to property patterns (such as Support setting image registry and/or repositor... (!2415 - closed))
• Large chart relocations or refactors (such as #2523 (closed))
