FY20-Q2 Support Department OKR: Establish Americas Central team => 100%
Migrate existing team members from AMER-E/AMER-W onto AMER-C, Onboard several new hires onto the newly formed AMER-C, Setup weekly recurring meetings with team.
Retrospective
- Overall, this was a pretty good process. A lot of learning and hiccups along the way, but it did straighten itself out as time went on.
Good
- Onboarded several new hires:
- Eric Rosenberg
- Marco Garcia
- Tom Houston
- Weekly 1:1s established with entire team
Bad
- Starting out, there were a lot of things that needed to be done that we weren't too aware of.
- Transferring people to my team was a learning process, but we now know this is done via the current manager, new manager, and people ops.
- Laptop acquisition was a pain point for new hires.
- Access requests are a pain point, although the new issue request method is a great improvement.
- With the team size, the number of meetings is sometimes overwhelming, especially for a new manager.
Try
- Thinking of trying a weekly "central" meeting (open to all) to have the entire team together.
