Update 1Password setup instructions regarding PDF Emergency Kit scanning

Why is this change being made?

  • macOS has continuously increased the security of the platform in such a way that 1Password is not allowed to screen record unless the user explicitly consents in the Privacy settings in System Preferences. This security restriction makes it impracticable to assume users can scan the QR code on the PDF. 1Password has also noticed this problem and mitigated it by allowing users to open the PDF inside of the scanner dialog. Opening the PDF in the dialog is the better step to suggest to new users, since it is less error prone and poses less surprises.

  • Since it is not very obvious where to open the PDF in the scanner dialog an image of the UI is included to help find the somewhat hidden menu.
