Add Runbooks to Release Management Group Categories
Release Management Categories & Proposed Change
Today, Release Management contains:
- Pages
- Release Orchestration
- Secrets Management
- Release Evidence
Within the Release Orchestration category, we have a significant amount of work on runbooks tied to supporting the maturity of executing releases in GitLab. Coordinating across Configure seems to be inefficient given that the theme of Compliance as Code and Get Things Done Easily within CICD/Ops are core to the Release Management Group, Runbooks naturally will develop as core to our offering. Competitively, we will also leverage Runbooks in Release to manage some of the data and workflow feature functionality that is expected of CDRA tools.
We are expecting to evaluate the direction of runbooks, to include other personas beyond the release manager and will encompass a deeper evaluation of the ops personas.
