WIP: Verify 38861 caused releases page to break

Why is this change being made?

This MR reverts !38861 (merged) to verify that it caused the https://about.gitlab.com/releases/gitlab-com/ page to break.

We do not want to merge this. This is just to verify that the page did work before this commit.
