Why is this change being made?

The Utilization group needs a comprehensive direction page to communicate our vision, strategy, and roadmap as we build GitLab's new usage-based billing system for the Duo Agent Platform launch.

Context:

  • GitLab is introducing consumption-based pricing with DAP, requiring a shift from seat-based to usage-based billing through GitLab Units (GUs)
  • This direction page provides transparency about our FY26 priorities, timeline, and how we're solving billing challenges
