elevate resource addition
Why is this change being made?
💡 Provide a detailed answer to the question on why this change is being proposed, in accordance with our value of Transparency.
As part of the Elevate Program certification, a handbook page must be updated to include something related to the Elevate Project. I've added a resource that was used in my section, "Having Difficult Conversations", an article describing a more pragmatic and tactical approach to preparing for a difficult conversation focused on mediator techniques.
Summary of new resource:
- Focuses on things you control, not the other person.
- Prepares you for what you want to say and how you can effectively say it.
- Helps reframe a “difficult conversation” as something that will improve relationships with positive outcomes.
Has the concept of a “gem statement”, something you genuinely believe and find valuable about the person that helps you understand their intent which helps force you to think about the trust equation
