Draft: Remove change that didn't make the milestone

Why is this change being made?

I'm not sure if this MR will be needed. If gitlab-org/gitlab#342882 (closed) makes 15.0, it can stay. If not, we'll need to merge this update and gitlab-org/gitlab#342882 (closed) will have to wait until 16.0.
