Introducing Manager M-team groups - Peer groups for managers

Manager M-Team Groups

From the handbook page:

M-teams are management support groups made up of 3 to 7 managers who are in timezones that allow for sync meetings among members. M-teams should set up a regular meeting on a cadence agreed by the members with the agenda being "what's challenging this week?". Decide who will facilitate and each person will get a chance to have their challenge discussed in the meeting. When it's your turn, you talk a little about what you're struggling with. M-groups agree to a level of confidentiality so that group members are willing to be vulnerable; vulnerability leads to trust and better outcomes for the group.

Individual groups are self-organizing. If you're interested in joining an M-Team group:

  1. Check existing teams below - reach out directly to current members in your timezone
  2. Start a new team - grab 3-6 other managers from the "New M-Team Members" list and self-organize
  3. Don't wait for assignment - take initiative and connect with peers!

Once a group reaches 8 members, team members can choose to split into 2 smaller groups.

If team members move or leave your group, please update the enrollment list here.

Ready to start a new team? You have enough managers! Form groups of 3-7 managers in similar timezones, create a private Slack channel, and schedule regular meetings. The handbook guidance is simple: meet regularly with the agenda "what's challenging this week?" and maintain confidentiality.
